Hyde Park Press was established in 1930, in small premises in the suburb of Hyde Park, South Australia. Soon after the Second World War the business was purchased jointly by three new owners and relocated to Morphett Street, Adelaide.

The business flourished in these premises, and the company soon began printing books by the Letterpress method using hot-metal type. Bindery operations were slow and laborious - even the folding machine was hand fed.

By 1974 Hyde Park Press had grown to a staff of 12. That was the year the company was purchased by one of its former apprentices, Mark Bloustien.

Wishing to expand quickly into offset printing, Mark merged Hyde Park Press with Coudrey Offset Press in 1979 and the combined enterprise moved to new larger premises in Camden Park the following year. Within ten years, the company had outlived this building and again moved to its current two storey premises in Deacon Avenue, Richmond.

Joint owners Mark Bloustien and Knowlton Coudrey remained directors of Hyde Park Press until Mark retired in December 2008. Knowlton and long-time Production Manager Barry Davis took over the company as equal shareholders.

Today Hyde Park Press is one of Australia’s leading printers, employing the latest prepress equipment, printing presses, bindery machines and management information technology.
