Strange noises coming from our Heidelberg Printing machines set in motion events worthy of an episode of ‘Animal Rescue’!
The printer thought something was wrong with his machine after hearing unusual sounds emanating from his press. He shut down bit by bit but the sound continued? With torch in hand he peered under and into the deep workings of the huge machine and was surprised to catch a glimpse of a black furry thing, making sounds, like perhaps a kitten? The furry creature backed away from the attention deeper into the bowels of the beast and out of human reach!
The kitten had been seen on several occasions in other parts of the factory, but had proven elusive to catch! It seems that he decided to make the Heidelberg his new home.
Being the caring kind of guys we are, a possum trap was organised and placed under the press, with a few tasty treats to tempt the puss.
This did the job as intended and we were soon the proud owners of a little furry black wild kitten.
Word got around that a kitten had been captured. Bob, one of our Sales Team just happened to be in the market for a new pet and it was love at first sight. He bundled up the creature in swaddling cloths and took the kitten home to his family. They bathed and cleaned him as well they could, but the little thing was in a state of shock. They fed the ravenous kitten and hoped that he would make it through the night, but were not overly confident.
Luckily, he survived the night and was taken to the vet, who cleaned him, blow dried him and gave him a clean bill of health. The vet was able to ascertain for sure that he was a male. I’m sure you’ll agree from the photos that he scrubbed up pretty well. He is now enjoying the lap of luxury and is putting on weight and gaining strength.
Bob and family have named him ‘Lucky’ for obvious reasons.
